Christmas Lights and Trains

Since today was a balmy 49 degrees we decided to bundle up and take the kids to see the lights and trains at the zoo this evening. The lights were amazing! We also got to see the new bear cubs, they were adorable!

Of course we had to ride the train.

JJ loved the trains, he kept saying, "I want something like this at my house."

All in all a fun evening, next year maybe we'll actually make it before Christmas!

Getting Fit

Well, after a month of searching we finally snagged the miracle cure that is going to help me lose a ton of weight in the new year................


Now before you all say "Yeah right" (you know that's what you're all saying), let me tell you, this thing is pretty cool. Let's see, it actually groaned when I got on it, (I'm not kidding) and then proceeded to tell me just how overweight I am. It even told me that based on my weight and balance and a few other things my adjusted age is 33 years old. But Ryan's adjusted age was 40, that's a ten year age difference for those of you that don't know, so I didn't feel quite so bad! When I entered my weight loss goal it laughed at me and told me that was never going to happen (ok, maybe I'm exaggerating on that a little but I'm feeling pretty bad about myself at this point).

But in all honesty, I think this thing is awesome and have high hopes that someday I'll actually rate at my actual age!

Allison is being proactive and trying to avoid the reaction I got from it!

Cookie Madness

We've spent the last few days doing some major Christmas baking. If I never see powdered sugar again that will be just fine! JJ thought it was great to get in and 'mix' the dough.

Here is a preview of some of the stuff we made. We will be eating buckeyes for Easter!



As if baking for two days straight wasn't enough we also decided to tackle a gingerbread house. The boys did the construction part.

While the girls ate the baking they just did.;) Allison looks majorly guilty!

I don't think this house would pass any inspections but it was fun anyway!

Santa

On Friday I took the kids to the Children's Museum to see Santa. JJ was so excited, and I knew Allison would be terrified but I was determined to make her take a picture with him. She surprised me though by absolutely loving Santa. She was fascinated by his beard and as I took her out of his lap she kept reaching back for him! Who knew?? Although, I guess she's just trying to butter him up for better presents!:)

Future Financial Whiz

Tonight JJ was begging someone to play a game with him. This is what I found, not Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders but Monopoly.

Maybe a future financial whiz in the making????

Nativity

JJ and I finished up the Christmas decorating with putting together the Nativity set. We got out the stable and while I was looking for the people he come up and asks me, "Mom, did baby Jesus have elephants?" I thought it was a strange question until I saw this.:)
