Pumpkin Pickin'

We took the kids to our favorite pumpkin patch to get their pumpkins this year. Here they are with our 'stash'.
Don't the kids looked thrilled to be taking another picture?

My least favorite part, the cleaning. I felt a little bit like a wimp when JJ asked, "Mom, why don't you help us clean out the pumpkins?" and I had to admit that I refuse to clean out a pumpkin.

Once they were carved, for some strange reason, Alli loved sticking her head in the pumpkin!

And here is the finished product, Ryan's is the second from the left, I think he was pretty proud of it!

Insanity

What does a rainy Friday at the Children's Museum during fall break equal...........INSANITY!!! For some crazy reason my friend Jennifer and I decided to take our kids to the Children's Museum today, which looking back at it was not very smart since neither of us has kids in school so we could go any other day, but, no, we decided to go during fall break with the rest of the city (and surrounding cities apparently). Here is the mass of people still trying to get in at 1:00.

And just because it was the only other picture I managed to take without fifty other kids in it, here is Allison enjoying the day.

Zoo Boo

We hit up Zoo Boo this weekend. I have to say, I thought this was a fake head until he opened his eyes!

Alli can't believe it's a real head either.

Kids enjoying a little rest with the skulls.

We told JJ this is what happens to pirates who misbehave!

It was a fun evening and, if nothing else, let the kids wear their costumes more than just one time!

Buddy Walk

Today we participated in the 11th Annual Buddy Walk. This is a walk that celebrates individuals with Down Syndrome. It's 2.5 miles downtown along the canal and we had a beautiful day for it. It was alot of fun and inspiring to see some of the people there. There are definately times when I get frustrated at the situation that we've been given and I worry about Allison's future almost daily but seeing some of the individuals there today made me worry a little less. Here are some pictures of our day.

She didn't make it all the way through the walk, I don't even think she made it halfway!
So get ready people, next year we're getting together a team to walk with us!! I'm giving you fair warning!:)

Happy (Belated) Birthday Ryan

Yesterday was Ryan's 30th birthday. All I can say is it's about time he joined the 30 year old crowd! All I've heard for a month from him is, "How does it feel to be married to a guy in his 20's?"

Here is Ryan and the kids with the new Wii game we bought for him. Later that night we went and exchanged it for a game that he really wanted.:)

And blowing out the candles on the Derby Pie we made for him.

Alli enjoyed the festivities so much she crashed at the table, after eating her pie, of course!

And, just so everyone knows, Ryan may make fun of my blog but he was very upset when he found out that I didn't blog his birthday!

Really, Happy Birthday Ryan, I can't wait to spend the next 30+ years with you!

Cubbies

On Wednesday nights I teach Cubbies at church. These are 3-4 year olds. They are a lot of fun (and a lot of work)! Tonight we had 21 kids, I don't think we could have crammed in anymore kids if we tried!

My camera couldn't even fit in all the kids! Good thing I'm not a drinker or I may have needed one after tonight!:)

Victory!

On the agenda for tonight.........a family fun evening at Metropolis, complete with dinner at Stone Creek.

Then, to work off the delicious dinner..............some Wii Tennis! And, yes, after over an hour I finally won! The picture isn't good but at least it's proof, mine is the player on the left.

And now Ryan is downstairs practicing, I think I bruised his male ego.
