Cheap Thrills

A couple weeks ago my washer and dryer died so we went out and found the fabulous Whirlpool Cabrios. The kids were fascinated with them, they have glass lids so the first time I used them they spent at least 20 minutes watching the clothes wash. Well, I thought it would get old eventually but here we are, 2 weeks later and they are still totally fascinated with them. When they are bored I say, "Hey, lets go do a load of laundry!" and they jump at it. Doesn't take much to amuse my kids!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We didn't go out to dinner or even exchange gifts for Valentine's Day, instead we stayed home with the kiddos. We did, however, make a special dessert, chocolate fondue.

We had pound cake, pretzels, cheesecake, brownies, marshmallows, bananas, and strawberries, all dipped in Ghiradelli chocolate.
All of that and all JJ wanted was the plain strawberries, he didn't know what he was missing!

Alli, on the other hand, loved everything. I think she would have taken the chocolate by IV if possible!

Hope your Valentines Day was as sweet as ours!

Paint, Paint, Paint

Last week my friend Kit came over and helped me pick out some paint colors for the house. Here is a sneak peak of what I've done so far. One wall down, a lot more to go!!

Sleep Over

Last night we had a little sleepover, Rylan and Madison spent the night at our house. I was a little nervous about how the girls would do all night but we had a great time!
We watched movies.

The girls did not want to go to bed

So sweet!

Disgusting!!!

We have had this odor coming from our downstairs coat closet for about 4 months. I did everything I could think of, washed the coats, cleaned the floor and walls, even disassembled the vacuum and cleaned it out. Finally Ryan cut a whole in the wall and found the culprit, a dead mouse. Kind of disgusting but at least the problem was solved. Well, today as I'm digging through the glove basket to find JJ some gloves to go outside I noticed that most of the gloves smelled, I figured it was just lingering from the mouse Ryan found earlier to I took it up and washed it all.

Once the gloves are done washing I go to get them to dry them and I notice the laundry room smells. Well, I just think, wow, maybe I need some better soap if they still smell this bad. I go to unload them into the dryer and grab this lint to throw it away, only it isn't lint.

Even after 5 washing I can still feel the wet, dead mouse on my hand!

Snow Fun

We decided to go play in the snow before it all melts away. Here are the kids before we head out. Allison is stylin' with boots up to her thighs and a coat that swallows her!
JJ making boy snow angels, he informed me several times that they are boys because he is a boy, he's in an anti-girl thing right now
Alli's saying, "Thank you for putting me in a coat that actually fits but how about some mittens that aren't 5 sizes too big?"
And, finally, some sledding, although since we live on a corn field sledding consists of us just pulling them around the yard.:(

Cold and Bored

I don't know about anyone else but I'm sick of this -10 degree weather. Since we are stuck inside and bored we decided to make brownies today. The kids love the batter!

I mean they REALLY love the batter!

Here's hoping we either get 5 feet of snow or spring comes soon!!
