Family Fun Vacation

We are on vacation this week in New Bern, NC. After much debate we decided to drive the 14 hours instead of fly, it was a LONG drive. If I had to hear JJ ask, "Are we on vacation yet?" one more time I think I was going to jump out of the car! It is HOT, 95 degrees today so we've been trying to stay in the pool or inside as much as possible. Here are some pics from Monday

After much persuading Ali finally started to tolerate the pool.

JJ discovered some frogs and turtles around the lake behind our house, he's in heaven.

JJ and his cousin, Owen, playing on the playground.

Today we ventured out to A Day at the Farm. In 95 degree heat you can imagine what a great time that was! The kids loved it at least.
Ryan and Ali enjoying the shade by the chickens.

The family on a hayride. They told the kids that they should watch out for foxes, bears and beavers on the ride, turned out they were cardboard cutouts, a total let down for JJ who was expecting the real thing!

Ali completely fell in love with the rabbits, she loved them so much I actually tried talking Ryan into getting one, luckily I came to my senses within a few minutes!

JJ and Owen got to feed a calf a bottle of milk, the boys could hardly hold it that cow was sucking so hard, I would hate to be his mama!:)

On the agenda for tonight............a hog roast, yummm!!

Fun At The Park

Tonight we went to the park with friends from church. We had a great time, the boys played some football, while the girls chatted and the kids played.

I tried to be a good mom and bring a table cloth so we didn't have to eat off the table, however, Ali had other plans. She tore through that paper table cloth like it was Christmas!

Here is JJ with his buddies Lauren and Josiah, they thought they were all going to sleep out in the front yard, and with only one pillow! Craziness!

A Night At The Fair

Tonight we went to the Hendricks County Fair. We ate tons of greasy fair food, saw animals, milked a goat, rode rides and then ate again. All in all a very fun evening!

Allison was not happy that she didn't get to ride any rides but I wasn't about to do that again (read previous post)!JJ LOVED the elephant ear, when we were leaving he wanted to know where the elephants were at the fair. He couldn't understand why we ate their ears! Gotta love the mind of a 3 year old!

That Fun Place

Tonight Ryan and I went to Greenfield to visit his mom and we took the kids to That Fun Place. It's sort of like a knock off of Chuck E. Cheese.

Ali and I are getting ready to ride some sort of banana ride. I'm convinced that this has to go pretty slow if they will let someone Allison's size ride.

Turns out it didn't go around so slowly, this is Ali trying to climb out of the ride and me trying to keep her in and not the throw up all over both of us!

JJ was tall enough to ride by himself so Ryan lucked out and got to watch and laugh at the rest of us.

Thankfully, JJ was also tall enough to ride the roller coaster by himself, I must be getting old if even the kiddie rides make me sick!

And because I think Ryan needs a picture on the blog here is one of him with all the nieces and nephews on his side of the family. Erin, his sister, was here from Florida visiting, JJ will miss them, he really enjoyed playing with his cousins.

Don't Be Jealous Ladies

So Ryan came home from work today and handed me a little black box and said Happy Secretary's Day. Yes, I know it's not really Secretary's Day but I think he's been feeling a little guilty for all the free work I've been providing the business. Well, of course, little black box and a guilty feeling husband can only mean one thing, right? Yep, you guessed it, it's a pen that doubles as a flash drive! I mean really, what woman wouldn't want that from her husband?!? I thought he spent money on it but then come to find out it was actually free, I know, I'm one lucky girl!:) Here are pictures so you can see just what you're missing out on.

I Give In

After much peer pressure from certain people (Heidi) I finally gave in and started a blog. So here it is..........I know you are all very excited! Today we went to the zoo with Ryan's family, it felt like it was a 100 degrees outside but the kids didn't care, they had a blast.

Ali enjoying her first train ride

JJ loved the sprinker area

Ali didn't

So there it is, my first post, I hope you are all happy!;)
